QuickBooks Integration – Installation and Usage Requirements

To ensure the QuickBooks integration installs and operates correctly, please review the following requirements and procedures.



Installation Requirements

The QuickBooks integration installer must be run as Admin and will download the following softwares and EXE's that need to run:

  • QBSDK160.exe

  • QBSDK160_x64.exe

  • Update.exe

  • dotnet-sdk-7.0.312-win-x64.exe

  • dotnet-sdk-7.0.312-win-x86.exe

All the above are downloaded from fcpos-updates.s3.us-west-000.backblazeb2.com to local user app data path \ DownloadedFiles and run as admin, full install. Then the installation copies over the necessary files that are downloaded (also from fcpos-updates.s3.us-west-000.backblazeb2.com to the FCPOS folder) and creates a shortcut for the local user.


First-Time QuickBooks Authorization

When using the QuickBooks integration sync tool with the Quickbooks company file for the first time, QuickBooks must be configured correctly so that the tool can gain rights to QuickBooks.

Please ensure the following:

  • The QuickBooks company file is open on the same computer where the FCPOS QuickBooks Sync Tool is being used.

  • QuickBooks is logged in using the QuickBooks Admin user.

  • QuickBooks is running in Single-User Mode.

  • The QuickBooks company file is open and accessible during the authorization process.

The QuickBooks authorization prompt that grants the integration access to the company file will not appear unless the QuickBooks Admin is logged in and QuickBooks is running in Single-User Mode.


QuickBooks Usage Requirements

Each time the QuickBooks integration is used, the corresponding QuickBooks company file must be open on the same computer as the QuickBooks Sync Tool.

The tool can only be open on one computer at a time to function correctly.

The Sync Tool should not be open multiple times. Opening multiple instances simultaneously will result in an error and prevent the synchronization process from working correctly.



Following these requirements will help ensure that the QuickBooks integration installs correctly, receives the necessary QuickBooks permissions, and operates reliably.
